Coming Home Photos

Arriving at our new home, one of the first things I spotted was this little birdhouse on the corner of the shop building.  Clearly the folks who lived here before were as in love with the airborn littles as we are!

Looking at the front garden, that needs maybe more than just a little loving, we can see the iron work gates and entryway but we couldn't find the paving stones that marked the path until some weeds got cut back.  Looks much better already!

I think these may be the smallest crab apples I have EVER seen.  So intense and tart, these things must be pure pectin once they get cooked down!  We have two apple tress growing in the front yard at the moment, this and a golden variety that seems to already be past it's pickable prime.  Fresh ground fall fruit for the compost I guess!

We found this in the main, decorative, garden in the front yard.  Future home of the Clean Valley Faries perhaps?

I'm not sure just yet, but I think this may just be a nice large Saskatoon berry bush, heaven!

Since this is the prairies, no set of photos would be complete without a couple of older farmhouses.  Here are a couple from in town here for you to enjoy.  I love the style of the second one, too bad it's in such a state of disrepair.

Mushroom shot, just for fun!

Fire hydrants don't look like this back where I used to live ... do they look like this where you live?
Here is an interesting piece of our local history.  In the Post Office, also gossip central I'm told, they have this wonderful collection of all of the postmasters that have worked in out little town since 1886!  How cool is that!

Welcome to our new homestead!
